This piece is pit fired in oak sawdust and dried maple leaves along with sulfites of copper and iron.  This was one of the trickiest forms for me to assemble because I had to cut the cylinder form when it was still quite wet and attach it to a slab base.  I learned a lot about angles working on this piece.  The pebbles around the base really ground this sculpture and tie into the cairn at the top.
